I recently had the pleasure of working on an interesting and exciting supply chain/value chain optimization case study featuring Repsol S.A., a global energy and petrochemical company based in Madrid, Spain. As part of its Control Tower project, Repsol was looking for an end-to-end supply chain control tower that would provide economic and customer service trade-offs for planning across the entire chemicals value chain. To get a comprehensive, total view of its chemicals business, Repsol used Aspen PIMS-AO™ (Advanced Optimization) with several aspenONE® Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions. With the expansive Control Tower, Repsol was able to:
- Improve its profit margin with improved business decisions for crackers, polymers scheduling and distribution
- Deliver return on investment over 10x with a payback period of less than 6 months
- Increase its customer service factor by 2-4%
You can read the full case study here to learn how AspenTech’s solutions were deployed to enable Repsol’s business processes.
I enjoyed working on this project and have been sharing it with colleagues. I am happy to share that the project has been recognized as a 2022 Top Supply Chain Project award winner from Supply & Demand Chain Executive. According to the publication, the 2022 Top Supply Chain Project award’s mission is to celebrate projects with the most transformative and successful cases from the past year.
AspenTech is proud to share this recognition with our Repsol colleagues and we are especially grateful to have the opportunity to support Repsol on this exciting and valuable project.
