We congratulate all the winners of the 2020 Hydrocarbon Processing Awards. The awards ceremony, now in its fourth year, recognizes  the  process industry’s top innovations and innovators. 

Honorees received awards in 15 categories, including 13 celebrating the latest technological advances in the industry and two awards honoring people who have had a significant impact on the hydrocarbon processing field. Nearly 100 nominations were submitted from more than a dozen countries. Each abstract was voted on by an independent Hydrocarbon Processing advisory board, examining the solution’s impact on the industry and how it advances digitalization.

Aspen HYSYS has differentiated itself against competitor solutions in the market with decades of innovations that have enabled process engineers to develop highly accurate digital twins of their site-wide operations. These innovations include the ability to estimate both the capital and operating expenses of the process, conduct energy analysis of the process using pinch technology and to rigorously simulate the operations of heat exchanger units from within the Aspen HYSYS environment.

Other Aspen HYSYS innovations include its ability to enable visualization of the internal hydraulics of distillation columns, bringing significant savings to process industries world-wide. In addition, it’s now much easier for users to connect their simulation models to real-time plant data simplifying the deployment of digital twins for operations support.
